First Giveaway!

We have been feeling the need to celebrate for quite some time now and decided the time is finally here! Why celebrate? Oh where do I even start....How about a brief recap?

A little over a year ago myself (City Chic) and my mom (Country Mouse) opened our Etsy shop. We never dreamt that a year later we would have so many sales, developed friendships with amazingly talented people, and have a blog with the most wonderful readers!

And finally we have our copies of One Yard Wonders (we contributed our tabletop ironing board cover pattern)! The book is fantastic! It is spiral-bound so it lays open nicely while you read instructions for 101 amazing projects! So how about we celebrate by giving one lucky reader their very own copy?

How to enter:

We try to create things to make your household chores a bit more fun (like ironing!). So leave us a comment with your least favorite household chore.

Rules:
  • One entry per person, open to US residents only (darn shipping costs!)
  • Giveaway will be open through midnight CST - Friday November 13.
  • We will randomly pick a winner and reveal the lucky one Monday November 16.
  • Lucky winner will be responsible for emailing us with their mailing address.
If you can't wait for us to announce the winner of the giveaway, you can order your very own copy here. It's the perfect gift for a fabric lover (remember the holidays are fast approaching!) Good luck and happy sewing!

  1. I'll be the first! I REALLY dislike doing the dishes. My husband is kind enough to do them most of the time, I'd rather clean toilets than dishes! Thanks for this giveaway, what a great book!

  2. What a wonderful giveaway; if I don't happen to win this book, then I'm for sure adding it to my Christmas wish-list! :)

My least favorite shore is vacuuming the stairs. We don't have a hand-held vac so carting the real vacuum up-and down the stairs while using the hose/brush attachment is just awful. I usually get my husband to do it, while bribing him with my sad, puppy dog eyes! Hehe

  3. Hmmm, my least favorite chore would be cleaning the bathroom or changing sheets or cooking dinner or (I should say especially) grocery shopping. Ahhh, the list seems to be endless. A domestic goddess, I am not!

    Thanks for a great give-away! I hope I win. :)

  4. Gosh so hard to pick just one... but I'm gonna go with cleaning the bathroom. I had an incident back in college with cleaning an overly dirty bathroom and using too much bleach in a tiny little room with no ventilation. Now any amount of bleach really does a number on me. Ew!

  5. Hi there! I just found you through your FAB ironing board cover on Fabric Shoppe :). And then I started looking through your Flickr ... lots of great inspiration :).

My least favorite chore without a doubt ('cause I pretty much enjoy house cleaning, weird I know) is cleaning the showers/baths. UGH!! Can't stand it!

Thanks for the giveaway ... I can't wait to look around a bit more!

  8. what a cheery site you have! love that you're a mother daughter team, btw.

and your aprons, well, i'm so impressed. i'm way behind being talented in the crafting department, but did just blog about making my first apron! it's a bit imperfect, but cute nonetheless.

least favorite chore? i hate picking up after a crafting session. the thought of it sometimes makes me not want to even start.

  9. I must say your ironing board covers coupled with my new-found hobby of sewing has eliminated the drudge from ironing.

Now if only you could find a way to beautify the process of cleaning a shower stall.... =)

  10. My all-time least favorite chore is sorting and folding clean socks. With three teenagers in the house, this is a never ending chore. Thank you so much for offering this giveaway!

  11. You and your Mom are such an inspiration to me! You guys are so talented. Congrats on the success!

I guess I'd have to say my least favorite chore is the dishes! With 5 of us, there's always so many of them. It's never ending. So most of the time it's the kids' chore! Dirty or clean-I hate dishes!
